Electricity & Cogeneration Regulatory Authority (ECRA) was established pursuant to Council of Ministers Resolution No.(236) dated 27/8/1422 A.H to regulate the electricity and water desalination industry in Saudi Arabia in order to insure provision of adequate, high quality and reliable services at reasonable prices. ECRA monitors the performance of the service providers within a regulatory framework,in accordance with government laws, regulations, policies and standards as well as international best practices in order to guarantee the provision of safe, reliable, reasonably priced and efficient electric power and desalinated water to the consumers of Saudi Arabia.
