Technical Lead

We are looking for a technical leader to spearhead the full development, refinement, execution, and scaling of all tech and tech-related aspects of this startup, including a fully-functional MVP. 

• The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all technical digital startup infrastructure.
• They will collaborate with the Founder(s) to align technical and system development with the business objectives. 
• They will oversee the technology and digital operations of the business. 
• The ideal candidate will be able to define, execute, and refine the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap to deliver a world-class digital health infrastructure. 
• They will be responsible for all tech-based facilitation and empowerment of business activities and functions. 
• They will provide frequent technical reports to the stakeholders, including prospective investors.
• They will also assure strict adherence to technical and regulatory health-industry standards.

• The ideal candidate will develop and oversee system architecture, web/app/software development processes, data management, network administration, security/compliance protocols, and other evolving IT needs in order to ensure optimal performance and compliance. 
• The candidate will take ownership of their technical development of the tech-related components, products, platform and infrastructure of the company.
• They will take the lead to technically architect and develop a scalable system that aligns with the core business objectives and functions, ensuring seamless business operations and interoperability between system components, database and third-party tools. 
• They will also actively work on the company's website, app and software development. 
• They will oversee market entry and product lunch, ensuring reliability, security and scalability of the platform. 
• They will perform thorough preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as the IT infrastructure is lunched and tested. 
• The candidate will work closely with the founder(s) to determine technical needs, establish the technology aspects of the products of the company, refine the existing platform, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate technicalities to the non-technical startup team, board members and other stakeholders. 
• The candidate may also carry out other tasks and responsibilities, as needed.  

Key Responsibilities

• Online Platform Development: Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of the online platform to ensure optimal performance and user experience. Implement responsive front-end designs for a seamless user interface and support the platform’s scalability, security, and accessibility.
• Front-End Development: Develop user-friendly interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant front-end frameworks. Ensure the platform is responsive and compatible across various devices and browsers. Work on UI/UX desigs to create visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces.
• Back-End Development: Contribute to building and maintaining server-side components that handle data processing, user authentication, and server-side logic. Implement APIs to enable seamless communication between front-end and back-end. Optimize performance for speed and efficiency.
• IT System Architecture: Understand company needs to define system specifications. Plan and design the structure of a technology solution. Evaluate, select and implement appropriate software or hardware. Monitor the implementation and address technical concerns and evolving needs.
• Database Management: Contribute to the design and optimization of database structures to meet the platform's data requirements. Maintain database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability. Support the development of solutions for data storage, retrieval, and backup/recovery processes.

Required Qualifications

You should have the ability to build from scratch, adapt to ambiguity, tackle challenges effectively, handle diverse & pressing assignments, and take on evolving and new responsibilities. Additional requirements for this position:

• Degree (or Equivalent Experience): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent work experience).
• Experience in Full Stack Development: Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and deploying full-stack software & web applications, database integrations, and ML applications/AI algorithms with a strong understanding of healthcare compliance and data security needs.
• Experience as a Systems Architect: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing core technologies, operational systems, workflow automation, process optimization and business infrastructure to support a company's growth and scalability.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in modern front-end frameworks like React & -----, back-end technologies such as Python & -----, database integrations and cloud services, preferably Firebase. Experience with machine learning applications in healthcare is a strong plus.
• Scalability and Reliability: Track record of building scalable and reliable platforms, with an understanding of DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and performance optimization.
• Independence, Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to work reliably in complete independence, lead a technical team, collaborate with non-technical stakeholders, and contribute to product strategy.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative solutions for basic and complex technical challenges.
• Result Orientation, Action Focus and Lean Startup Operation: Responding to all technology and technical startup needs  with immediacy, gauging personal success from the success of the startup, and ability to operate under pressure and limited resources.
• Language Requirements: Proficient technically and non-technically in English, Arabic, or preferably both.
• Startup Experience: Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced, agile development environment is highly desirable.

• A prior experience working with early-stage healthtech startups, health technology solutions lifecycle, or operational technology.
• A proven track record of raising capital or engaging with investors.
• A passion for health-based tech with a personal or professional interest in enhancing healthtech services.
• A proven networking ability with existing connections to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jordan and elsewhere.

This is an entrepreneurial leadership position and is an equity-based opportunity. The addition of salary and other compensation benefits will be contingent on securing the next round of funding.
