The Utilities Design Review Engineer is responsible for reviewing and approving utility systems designs (water, sewage, drainage, power, telecommunications, and gas) for large-scale infrastructure projects.

This role ensures that all designs meet project specifications, local regulations, and international standards while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cost-effective and efficient utility solutions.

Competency Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in the design and review of utility systems, including water, sewage, drainage, and power, for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of local utility regulations and international standards, with demonstrated expertise in utility integration within complex infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage the coordination of utility designs across multiple project components.
  • Proficiency in engineering and project management software tools, with a structured approach to managing design reviews.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc Holders: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Utilities Engineering from a recognized Western-accredited university, with over 15 years of relevant experience.
  • MSc Holders: Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Utilities Engineering from a recognized Western-accredited university, with over 12 years of relevant experience.

Professional Membership:

  • Chartered membership in a recognized institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE, CIBSE, or equivalent).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in utility design review, with at least 5 years in a senior engineering role. Experience in the Middle East is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, ensuring utility designs meet both regulatory requirements and project-specific goals.
  • Commitment to quality assurance, safety, and regulatory compliance in all utility design activities.
